Cupcakes ordered during Labor!

Yes, you read that correctly. While my repeat customer Faviola was in labor for the birth of her daughter, she contacted me and ordered cupcakes. I was taken back by her timing and flattered at the same time. Her mommy instincts were already kicking in for when visitors come to see Mommy and newborn! I heard back from Faviola after baby arrived and I can report they are doing great! I know a dozen or so visitors that are going to be sweetly surprised too!

Baby Bory is on the Way!

Cathy contacted me way before my busy Communion season to order these stork themed cupcakes for a Baby Shower. I knew we had plenty of time and that the date she needed was available but I needed to get through the busy season and Cathy was patiently waiting for me to go over ideas. We narrowed it down to this adorable design by Edible Details. The baby's gender is still a surprise so she selected the neutral colors and asked that I detail the baby's last name on the stork's bundle. I just love these so much! Individually packaged cupcakes are a bit more work but when the design comes together so nicely, it really was such a pleasure! I hope the Bory family enjoy these chocolate chip cupcakes!

Diana's Baby Shower

My cousin Denise ordered four dozen cupcakes for her great friend Diana who is expecting her first child and having a baby shower. Denise ordered all vanilla cupcake favors with a variety of fondant toppers with baby girl theme. The boxes were all dressed up in sheer white ribbon and pretty little custom tags! I was not able to photograph the finished work at my house and my cousin was kind enough to snap a few for the blog. Here you go! Diana has been so wonderful with so many children over the years and now she'll be raising her very own princess!

God Bless Cody on his Baptism!

My friend Kelly had three boys and her youngest, Cody, was baptized today. Kelly wanted three dozen cupcakes for Cody's celebration and I loved that she wanted a design with is name on a fondant banner. This was a new addition to the traditional requests I get for religious milestones. Very personal and in sync with other toppers. I hope that Cody's life is full of God's blessings.

Baby Boy on the Way!

New customer, Lindsay contacted me to order cupcakes for her co-worker expecting a baby boy very soon! Originally Lindsay wanted a cupcake cake shaped like a baby bottle but I could not get the correct size box from my supplier but thankfully she was flexible and changed her order to cupcakes with a variety of baby (boy) designs for the fondant toppers. She also asked if Big Sister Brooke could have her very own special cupcake. I supplied an individual box for expectant Mom to take Brooke's cupcake home. I hope that this celebration at Jericho School is a great surprise!

Michele's Baby Shower!

Our friends Michele and Ed are expecting their first baby and it was my pleasure to bake these chocolate chip cupcakes for her Baby Shower. Baby Boy to-be has a jungle theme going in his nursery and I made a variety of animals for the shower favors. I love when I get to attend the party with the Babycakes and see the reactions of the guests. Everyone seemed to love the cupcakes, they were randomly placed at the table settings and it was fun for me to see and hear which animals they liked best. My personal favorite is the lion and the elephant a close second. Michele and I worked together while I was pregnant with my son and that pregnancy was not a smooth sailing one. I thought for sure that I had scared her to death but thankfully her pregnancy has been wonderful. She looks amazing and I felt so happy being there to share in their special day. Michele and Ed are such a fun loving couple and their new addition is already blessed!

I started screaming with delight since the gender was a pure surprise and little baby Conchetta came one sweet day early! Congratulations Matt and Michele on becoming Grandparents! Baby Conchetta is daughter to new parents, Kristin and Matthew. Congratulations to them! She is a blessing and will have a life full of love always!

Whooo's Having a Baby?

Faviola, new customer from Queens, NY, contacted me about her Baby Shower. She's expecting her first child (a boy) in seven weeks and we know how much excitement is brewing in the air! She emailed me a copy of the invitation and asked me to make small little owls and branches separately. Owls are popping up everywhere but some are creepy looking....these are simply adorable! She and her husband and Mother came insisted on driving to Levittown to pick these up themselves and it was great to chat and see how excited these made the parent to-be.

Alice In Wonderland

Jennifer had ordered cupcakes last winter for the Bridal Shower and this year needed me for the Baby Shower! The theme is Nursery Stories....so pure and perfect for a baby coming into the word and all the curiosity and delight of childhood. It was fun creating the toppers for this theme....my nieces and nephews and children all gathered round to watch the classic Alice in Wonderland. I had never seen it. It was perfect for a snowy day in November. I made several designs and multiples of each for the shower guests to take home as favors.

That first impression.....

Loyal customer, Doreen referred me to new customer, Arlene who needed four dozen cupcake favors for her daughter's baby shower. I love that baby showers are not seasonal. Making all those cute little bears and carriages keeps me smiling knowing that someone who is expecting a sweet bundle is going to love the detail of her special celebration. It's such an exciting time for the whole family! I delivered these to Uncle Bacala's in Garden City Park, NY and as soon as you walk in, it's the equivalent to what happens when you walk into a bakery. The delicious aroma hits you in the face and your appetite just got a huge wake up! I wish I could bottle up the aroma in this restaurant, it has made it to my "must try out" list of restaurants. Anyway, the room was simple but so pretty, fresh flowers, little wrapped up chocolates and Babycakes favors on every place setting. What a great first impression! I had to snap a picture of how nice it looked! This Mom to-be is also having Baby Shower number two in Virginia at the end of the month which my lucky Babycakes will be a part of!

Janice's Sprinkle!

Today was Janice's "Sprinkle." Janice is the proud Mother of two beautiful girls. In just a few weeks, she will be the Mother of THREE and this time she's having a BOY! Her family and friends got together today to celebrate and help Janice get some boyish blue into her world. I made these simple vanilla cupcakes adorned with the blue bibs, "It's a BOY!!" I hope Janice continues to have a smooth pregnancy and welcomes R.J into the world with blue bows and then some!

Thank Heavens for Little....

Well, "It's a ?" I love when someone still opts for the surprise of a lifetime. When you don't know your baby to-be's gender, it's suspenseful for everyone. The old wives' tales and guessing can be an endless source of amusement! New customer, Debbie, called me while planning her daughter's Baby Shower and decided to have fun with the gender guessing. She picked a variety of flavors....red velvet, chocolate and chocolate chip. I made male and female teddy bears and both pink and blue bibs. It's just a matter of time before the baby comes and the mystery is long gone.

Tara's Baby Shower!

These cupcake favors were all boxed and ready to go to Tara's Baby Shower. The one with the bib that reads "It's a Boy!" is red velvet cupcake topped with cream cheese frosting. The cute teddy bear is chocolate cupcake with vanilla frosting tinted baby blue and the baby carriage is vanilla chocolate chip cupcake with chocolate frosting. The customer, Barbara, ordered the cutest labels for the boxes!! I was excited when I saw them thinking how lucky my boxes are! I baked two dozen of each flavor and worked on the designs all week long keeping with the brown and blue color theme. It was great to have a baby shower order in the midst of so many communion orders this time of year. Baby Vincent is already being showered with so much love....hope Tara and her family enjoyed these treats today!

Alyssa's Baby Shower!

My family is growing with more beautiful children to love...my second cousin, Kevin and his girlfriend, Alyssa, are parents to-be!! Kevin's Mom, Denise threw them a sweet intimate baby shower this past weekend.
Denise asked if I would make cupcake favors for Alyssa's baby shower and I was thrilled but wanted to create something unique for the design. Alyssa has so many creative ideas and always talking about different styles and ideas for Kylie's wardrobe and nursery and so on...I knew that I'd have to make something girlie and dainty. I thought of those sweet personalized bracelets you often see made for infants and toddler with those tiny little beads. I googled my idea and was delighted to find no matches which sealed the deal for me. Made me excited that no one I followed on blogs had made this before, making this little idea of mine totally original with Kylie in mind. It was tedious but well worth it. I really wish I had the photo taken with another camera that was so perfect but this will do.
My family gives me such joy when I get to bake for our special times. I cannot wait to meet little Kylie who is due later this month. I know this is the first of many special events in her life for which I will be baking for!!

How do ya like them apples?

When my friend Anne contacted me about cupcakes for a baby shower , I instantly thought of the typical bibs, bottles and pastel colored themes often served up at baby showers. While we were still tossing around ideas, expectant parents, Sara & Gabe welcomed their baby daughter, Eve, into the world a little sooner than the planned baby shower. Anne's girlfriend, Jaimie thought up the idea of apples as the design for the cupcakes and I loved it immediately! How whimsical and clever too!
God Bless baby Eve! I hope that the guests enjoy the "forbidden fruit."
