Love, Peace & Paws for Sami!

My good friend Dawn ordered these cupcakes for her daughter Sami for her birthday class celebration. She texted me a picture and gave me creative liberty but I really liked the design she sent and went from there. These chocolate and vanilla cupcakes are topped with a marshmallow crème frosting that is an awesome taste combination! I hope that Sami loved her cupcakes and that she had a great celebration to kickstart her long weekend off. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAMI!

Cupcakes ordered during Labor!

Yes, you read that correctly. While my repeat customer Faviola was in labor for the birth of her daughter, she contacted me and ordered cupcakes. I was taken back by her timing and flattered at the same time. Her mommy instincts were already kicking in for when visitors come to see Mommy and newborn! I heard back from Faviola after baby arrived and I can report they are doing great! I know a dozen or so visitors that are going to be sweetly surprised too!

May the 40th Be With You!

Christine planned every little detail for her husband Mike's 40th SURPRISE Birthday Bash! She contacted me and we exchanged several Star Wars themed cupcake pictures and she loved Gem's Treasures design. Although I have done Stars Wars theme in the past, this was more of a graphic design and I loved this, especially for an adult. Christine ordered these very cool labels for the individual boxes each guest received as a party favor. I just love when my boxes are "dressed up!" These vanilla cupcakes were sure to put a smile on everyone's faces and already got lots of praise before I was even able to post this on the blog. I really enjoy working with customers that are enthusiastic and flexible. Happy Birthday Mike! I'm sure your celebration was Out of This World!!

She's a whole lotta Country

Emma is 23 and celebrating at Mulcahy's in Wantagh with her friends and getting down with real live country music. I was very excited making these custom cupcakes for her. All I had to do was put a little leopard print in there and some camouflage and the rest came from all her pinterest pins. I sometimes wish I knew Emma when I was in my twenties but when I was in my twenties, I was living in the countryside in the Pennsylvania valley and country music was even on at my workplace. This city girl wasn't happy about it but because of Emma, I am getting more and more into country music and loving all the "culture" that goes with it. Emma likes to shoot guns, drive big trucks and still maintain a bright polished girlie fashion from her head to her gorgeous nails! Are these not the hottest set of nails you've ever seen? As much as she's into a beautiful manicure, this girl is not just what you see....she is so smart and so hard working. I love her more and more and think of her as part of our family. Her home was all decorated with leopard print, balloons and even glasses with guns on em. She pays attention to detail. My wish for Emma is that she continues to reach for her goals, keeps being herself and that she feels all the love around her all year long!

Thank you! Thank you very much!

My friend Janeth has a heart of gold, it's no wonder she has a wide circle of friends. One of her friends, Kristen, did something so thoughtful for Janeth and would not accept monetary payment from her. Janeth asked me to bake a special batch of "Thank you" cupcakes for Kristen to show her appreciation. It's such a 'SWEET' way to show someone you care the same way as giving flowers or mailing a card but instead a personal treat for your soul and belly! Janeth's friendship always comes full circle. Remember you get what you give <3

Diana's Baby Shower

My cousin Denise ordered four dozen cupcakes for her great friend Diana who is expecting her first child and having a baby shower. Denise ordered all vanilla cupcake favors with a variety of fondant toppers with baby girl theme. The boxes were all dressed up in sheer white ribbon and pretty little custom tags! I was not able to photograph the finished work at my house and my cousin was kind enough to snap a few for the blog. Here you go! Diana has been so wonderful with so many children over the years and now she'll be raising her very own princess!

Kerri's 40th Birthday Surprise!

My friend Johanna contacted me all the way from Delaware to bake cupcakes for her friend celebrating her 40th Birthday. She gave me delivery instructions and Kerri had no idea what she would be getting, she only knew that I would be coming delivering "something." Kerri & I do not know each other so it was fun knowing she couldn't even try to crack the mystery with me. Johanna told me that Kerri's favorite flowers are Gerber daisies. She sent me colors and chose vanilla chocolate chip as the flavor. I was delighted to drive up to her door and give her a birthday surprise that Johanna coordinated from far away! It was a welcome to make these on a cloudy wintry day too!

Jack is ONE!!!

Debra is a proud Grandmother and wanted to make Jack's first birthday very special. She asked that I make sock monkey cupcakes to accompany a huge cake ordered from a local bakery. I am always excited to try a new theme and was up for it! Got into a groove once I was able to assemble this cute little sock monkey and very pleased with the outcome. Happy FIRST Birthday Jack!

Some of the orders I never posted.....

Frozen cupcakes for kids, Hockey (NY Islanders) cupcakes for Matthew and Boxed Favors for a surprise 40th Birthday for Mike! It's been a crazy couple of months and I haven't even posted my work on the blog. I know it's not the same. No story behind the bake. I apologize and will try to get back on track.

40 and Fabulous!

My friend Janet turned 40 and her celebration was fierce! Janet is the kind of girl who puts a lot of thought into every detail. She contacted me well in advance for this order but I was only able to make the fondant toppers since my kitchen was under renovation and I was unable to bake for her. Most people order my cupcakes BECAUSE of the toppers and she was very precise with each design and her colors. These cupcake toppers were made for her to treat her friends who were taking her away to celebrate her milestone birthday for overnight pampering at a spa! Here are the happy bunch with their matching pjs and sleeping masks!

Emma's Big Day

Cathie asked for these cupcakes so long ago and I am glad to deliver these sweet treats for her daughter Emma. The request was her name, an iphone and the word Dancing. The batter is tye dye, which has suddenly become very popular again! I hope that these cupcakes make her day even more special. Emma got her braces off today and I bet she'll be smiling before these even get to her!

Gavin's Wrestling Ring Cupcake cake!

My friend Colleen has her hands full in October with her kids' birthdays being back to back. Gavin wanted a cupcake cake for his 8th Birthday Party with his friends. Colleen emailed me a couple of pictures of the wrestling ring Gavin wanted. I was so excited as this is a first time for a wrestling theme in my experience! The logo is made of fondant and white chocolate. The chocolate cupcakes were baked so perfectly consistent in size, I was actually in awe of how pretty they looked absolutely plain and then I had to coat them with lots of icing. I baked four too many for this ring so I made sure to swirl red icing on those and give to Colleen separately. The poles were an issue since the fondant was not cooperative staying upright and the string I used as "rope" would sink into them. I asked Colleen is would be all right to dip pretzel rods into dark chocolate and she was so excited. Not only were the "poles" now upright but consistent in size and oh so yummy to indulge as I had made plenty of them in the process. The string was the only challenge as it was not easy to keep it all snug. In the end, I love the outcome and so did Gavin. Another successful cupcake event with Colleen. Thank you for being so loyal and excited with me!! Happy 8th Birthday!!

"K" is for Kayla!

My friend Colleen has a busy month in October as her kids' birthdays are literally back to back. Kayla is up first and she requested RAINBOW battered cupcakes. I hope you can see the bright beauties through the cupcake liner. They are colorful and a surprise with each bite. The toppers are alternate white chocolate initials and lavender fondant ribbons and little white sprinkles. All custom designed by Kayla herself! HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAYLA!

Oktoberfest 2014!

My good friend Emma and her family are having an Oktoberfest celebration. Oktoberfest originated in Munich, Germany. A 16 day feast of sausages, pretzels and of course, beer. Emma requested Oktoberfest themed cupcakes and I was so excited as soon as I found this gorgeous design online. Credit to Craftsy. Laced up your dirndl dress and grab a stein! The original design had a foamy beer mug that I just couldn't nail down so I went with just the pretty cultured braids and dress and pretzels. Emma was delighted when she saw the pretzels as the party includes a pretzel bar! Oh the fun parties my cupcakes get to attend! Danke shen Emma for having faith in me.

Surprise Scott is 60!

Lindsay (aka solo cup) is such a sweet repeat customer. She is also a wonderful daughter to request custom cupcakes with some personal and humorous cupcakes for her Dad, Scott's very special evening with his friends and family to celebrate his 60th birthday. The cupcakes tell us a little bit about Scott. He is infamous for his head of hair and for drinking coffee. His family and friends would recognize these staple symbols right away. Lindsay went all out in planning this big night, it was all going to be a surprise to her Dad. She was buzzing with excitement when she came to pick these 5 dozen cupcakes up from me. She used my displays. Here is a picture she took! Happy 60th Birthday Scott!

Ahoy! Naughty Sailor Cupcakes!

I loved this theme because the majority of the work I do is G Rated. I get very excited making something out of the box. Tracy (a friend of a friend) contacted me for cupcakes for her friend Heather who is having her bachelorette party in Fire Island, NY. The theme is "Naughty Sailor" and I was kind of stumped. She told me that she wanted a nautical theme with some "naughtiness." SHe gave me the green light to be "raunchy" but I only made one.....see below. So happy these cupcakes are headed to my favorite island of all time, Fire Island, NY! These girls are going to indulge in these custom cupcakes to celebrate Heather!
