40 and Fabulous!

My friend Janet turned 40 and her celebration was fierce! Janet is the kind of girl who puts a lot of thought into every detail. She contacted me well in advance for this order but I was only able to make the fondant toppers since my kitchen was under renovation and I was unable to bake for her. Most people order my cupcakes BECAUSE of the toppers and she was very precise with each design and her colors. These cupcake toppers were made for her to treat her friends who were taking her away to celebrate her milestone birthday for overnight pampering at a spa! Here are the happy bunch with their matching pjs and sleeping masks!

Dive into these Cupcakes!

Logan is one of my daughter's best friends. He is such a great friend but more than that, he is a unique, smart, fun, inventive ("Loganisms")and great boy who just celebrated his 8th Birthday! His Mom, Janeth, is one of my great friends who with her husband, Eddie make Logan feel the love everyday but even moreso on his birthday celebrations! It was really such a pleasure working on his cupcakes and cupcake "cake." We joke that Logan is part fish. He has a backyard pool and in the water all the time! Over time, we've seen him become a natural in the water, wearing flippers and even his very own mermaid tail! Seeing him swim with it on is really a treat! His love of the water and mermaids, inspired the toppers I made for his pool cupcake cake. The kids enjoyed the cupcakes as I was so lucky to witness first hand. Happy Birthday dear Logan! Our family loves you and we are happy to enjoy this day with you! XOXO

Do You Wanna Build A Snowman?

That's exactly what I did for new customer, Debbie who requested Olaf for her daughter's Frozen themed birthday party. Debbie's daughter, Julianna, just turned FOUR years old and like so many little ones fell in love with quirky, silly snowman named Olaf from the Disney smash hit Frozen. Debbie purchased a plain cake from BJ's and I made the homemade fondant toppers to adorn it. In all the time that I have been doing Babycakes, I have been asked so many times, "Do you make cakes as well or just cupcakes?" My answer is always the same. I wish I could make cakes. I stick to cupcakes. This was so easy and it never occurred to me to offer just the toppers to add to a plain cake, made by someone else! Genius idea! Thank you Debbie! Debbie also had "snowballs" at her party that looked like cottony soft balls but once you held it, it felt like a real snowball. Clever prop at her Frozen party. Some Moms go all out for their kids and Debbie certainly did! Oh and by the way, I did make vanilla Olaf cupcakes as well...... Happy Birthday Julianna, I know your birthday was a lot of fun and you are a lucky girl!

Super Hero Toppers

Today I will be delivering these Toppers (total of 36) to James' Birthday party taking place at the Firefighter's Museum in Uniondale, NY. James, like many kids, has specific food allergies. His Mom, Elle, is preparing the cupcakes made with alternative ingredients and I prepared the super hero toppers, Spiderman is his favorite! They were all prepared freehand, only cutters were used for the round circle bases. Elle had faith in me and I hope she's satisfied with the outcome, I am!
I am so excited about this new alternative that I had not thought up on my own. Elle was the one who thought of ordering just my homemade toppers which are nut and gluten free!
I am not a skilled baker, all self taught, but I do enjoy what I can do and that is creative beautiful cupcakes for all occasions. I have yet to experiment baking with alternative ingredients to make my cupcakes gluten free. Toppers are a safe bet for those of you who would love to indulge but allergy conscious.
