Sarah's Sweet 16!

LuAnn is a special woman in our family's life. She is an amazing teacher, advocate, Mom and extraordinary human being. That said, when LuAnn needed me to make cupcake favors for her beautiful daughter, Sarah, I was very happy to be able to do something for her and her family. Sarah is a beautiful outgoing sixteen year old who wanted a night to celebrate among her friends at Tutto Pazzo restaurant in Huntington, NY. Sarah looked like a real princess with sparkle and she was eager to party. Family and friends had a wonderful night to celebrate with this amazing family. It was my pleasure to be able to make LuAnn's planning easier. These chocolate cupcakes were adorned with light blue flowers and banners. The guests would be able to take home a sweet treat. Happy Birthday Sarah!!!

Madi's Sweet Masquerade 16!

I have a niece who makes me feel very special and very loved. Her name is Madisen and she has won me over with her beautiful way of expressing her feelings through art, poetry, writing, and her hugs. Have I mentioned she gives the ultimate hugs? Madisen has only been in our family for two years but her demonstrative love and her connection with us makes us feel like there's never been a time we have not had her in our lives to love and nurture. Madisen recently celebrated her Sweet Sixteen and was a hands on planner along with her parents, Denise & Billy. The theme was Masquerade (a first for me) and her décor and the variety of masks that guests would wear made the night especially fun! Madisen had the traditional candle lighting where she expressed her thoughts and feelings of those she felt are a significant part of her journey. She made the room full of guests laugh and cry. I personally feel so proud of her adjustment to being with us and living in NY. Some of her Oregon roots were there in attendance which made the night so meaningful and special for her and for us. Madisen is also my God daughter which makes me feel very honored to be involved in her life and in this celebration. Thank you for this gift, I treasure our relationship! Her favors were all vanilla cupcakes with blue icing, silver sprinkles and fondant masks, each hand made and individually decorated.

Sweet Sixteen Sugar!

These red velvet and vanilla cupcakes were ordered by Laurie for her niece's Sweet 16th Birthday celebration and I loved the way they turned out! She emailed me a picture of the party invitation and it was a cute old fashioned candy lollipop with swirls of color and glittery shimmer. I topped the cupcakes with colored sugar crystals and sprinkles and chocolate initials and finally fondant candy. So colorful and sparkly and she LOVED them upon delivery. I hope her niece loved them as much as Laurie did!

Julie's Sweet Sixteen!

These cupcake favors are going to be handed out at Julie's Sweet Sixteen tonight. Elly, Julie's Mom, is a friend from high school and we've reconnected through Facebook and she has been so loyal to me, ordering cupcakes for both of her daughters' special events. This is the cream of the crop thus far! Elly contact me back in August of 2011 to secure me for the date of her daughter's celebration. I was quite flattered! She originally had another theme but Julie changed her mind and went with a web comic called Homestuck. These are the symbols of "The Kingdoms of Prospit and Derse." She sent me a picture of the symbols photographed all together and I researched trying to get some of these symbols photographed individually but had no such luck on all four. There are 84 cupcakes in total and she had a custom label printed and supplied the purple wired ribbon to package these lovely favors up. The flavors are split up chocolate and vanilla and I used edible wafer paper to get the very symbols sent to me on the cupcakes. I felt a little stunted in my inability to find images of these symbols but I really love the finished outcome! I cannot believe Elly has a daughter who is SIXTEEN! I can remember when we were that age! I hope tonight is a wonderful night for your family and friends and that Julie feels like the Queen of her own Kingdom!!

Shannon's Sweet 16!

Nancy is a new customer. She ate a cupcake about 18 months ago from a party thrown for my cousin and kept my card for a special occasion. Her daughter, Shannon is having a classic beautiful party to celebration her Sweet 16! It makes me feel so good to know someone keeps me in mind for times like these. Shannon told her Mom that after the cake gets cut, everyone runs to the dance floor because it's almost like a cue that the night is coming close to it's end and no one eats the cake. With that in mind, Nancy decided to send home the dancing, hungry teen guests with that special portable cupcake to go! I baked up 9 dozen of these simple pastel cupcakes with a homemade banner. The venue was set right off the beach, the adults took home a sand castle so she asked me to keep the colors soft. Happy 16th Birthday Shannon! *Posted a week after actual event.

Sixteen Sweetness!

My friend Lori and her husband bought a Bounce House business, JUMP (Ronkonkoma, NY) not too long ago. Lori puts 100% of herself in everything she does and I have no doubt that this new venture will be a great success. One of the employees at the business, Jennie, is turning 16 and Lori and her husband & the staff are surprising her with a festive celebration at work! She's asked me to make hot pink/zebra print cupcakes with the typical staples of the sweet teen's world. I got inspiration from "patacake-parties" and "Oh Sugar!" both online. Lori even made a cupcake tower in the theme color and print....hoping to get a picture to post! I love when people like Lori take so much time and thought to make someone feel special and appreciated. I bet Jennie feels the love with these Babycakes. JUMP sounds like a great place to work at and share a birthday!!
