Can you hear the birds singing?

My little girl is almost FIVE!!!!!! I made these sweet little tweety birds as her party favors since she loves birds and so the boys wouldn't be taking home a princessy type of cupcake. If I could've made praying mantis cupcakes that would've made me Mom of the Year but this was nature's second choice.
Lindsey has never had a party to celebrate her birthday other than the pizza and cake at our house with family. She selected a bounce house that's new to our neighborhood and going to see her friends from school and very excited!!!! Her cousin Jaydah is sleeping over making the celebration last and last! I baked her favorite rich chocolate cupcakes and know that these birds are singing a happy tune today! Happy Birthday to my sweet darling, Lindsey Marie. I can't believe how fast time is flying!

Fishin, Surfin, Lego Lovin Bday Boy!

My nephew is ELEVEN years old! Chase is such a loved member of our family. He has loved LEGOS for years but recently has been fishing on the pier in Long Beach, NY every chance he can and this summer, attending Surf Camp. It was fun to incorporate all these great hobbies as his birthday theme. The LEGOS are all colored chocolate, the rest are topped with homemade marshmellow fondant....I really dig the bathing suits and fishes.
This past year will be etched in Chase's memory and I hope that he felt all the love I added in these batches. Our family feels so very lucky to have this diverse dude be a part of our clan! Happy Birthday Chase! XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

You're in the Army Now...

My good friend, Nancy, requested Army themed cupcakes for her Uncle's birthday. He's 67 years young and was in the U.S Army. I made a vanilla cupcake cake with some fondant toppers....the traditional army logo, a compass, a tank and dog tags. The pull apart cake is accompanied by chocolate camouflage cupcakes.
I love when I am able to make something very personal and unique for the celebrant. Thank You Birthday Man, Sanchez for serving our counrty and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Erin's Graduation!

Graduation season is not over yet! These cupcakes are to honor Erin on her graduation day, which happens to be a beautiful day here in New York! Red velvet (my first time using crumbs as part of the finishing touches) and simple chocolate and vanilla with homemade marshmellow fondant toppers in her school colors. Just Because

How "sweet" is it when you get to eat a cupcake and you're not at a party or having dessert at a restaurant? It's an ordinary day and you just feel like treating yourself and the ones you love to a little something special!
