Jo-Ann's 60th Birthday!

Sarah tasted my one of my cupcakes at a family party awhile back and remembered how Jo-Ann raved about them. It's so flattering to hear that someone keeps my Babycakes taste and beauty in their mental file and pull it out when a special occasion is being planned. Laura, my college friend and repeat customer contacted me that her cousin Sarah would be getting in touch with me for cupcakes. Sarah did indeed contact me and had all the details for color and ideas ready for me. She chose orange and turquoise as the colors and little flowers and her name on some. I suggested personalized banners for some cupcakes that wouldn't have any fondant on them. She agreed, we met in Queens before the holiday weekend and her reaction is why I do what I do. She was very happy and gave me a big hug. I also loved the outcome and I'm pretty sure Jo-Ann did too. Happy 60th Birthday!

Lego Love!

Tamara contacted me for a batch of Lego themed vanilla cupcakes for her son's 8th birthday celebration. She sent me a picture and I did a copycat version. She was pretty happy with it!

She's a whole lotta Country

Emma is 23 and celebrating at Mulcahy's in Wantagh with her friends and getting down with real live country music. I was very excited making these custom cupcakes for her. All I had to do was put a little leopard print in there and some camouflage and the rest came from all her pinterest pins. I sometimes wish I knew Emma when I was in my twenties but when I was in my twenties, I was living in the countryside in the Pennsylvania valley and country music was even on at my workplace. This city girl wasn't happy about it but because of Emma, I am getting more and more into country music and loving all the "culture" that goes with it. Emma likes to shoot guns, drive big trucks and still maintain a bright polished girlie fashion from her head to her gorgeous nails! Are these not the hottest set of nails you've ever seen? As much as she's into a beautiful manicure, this girl is not just what you see....she is so smart and so hard working. I love her more and more and think of her as part of our family. Her home was all decorated with leopard print, balloons and even glasses with guns on em. She pays attention to detail. My wish for Emma is that she continues to reach for her goals, keeps being herself and that she feels all the love around her all year long!
