Not just for cookies!!

Who could ever top this perfect cupcake?  Thank you for all your love and support, Stefanie!!

Foul Play

Well, thank goodness these are just samples that will probably be very much appreciated by NYDS garage BK11. I thought of trying my hand at some Super Bowl cupcakes and don't think I scored. I think I need to finally purchase some proper piping tools.....

Cupcake Therapy

I bake cupcakes for a Bereavment group every month.  They allow me the freedom to bake anything I desire.  I made them autumn cupcakes, snowmen cupcakes and couldn't think of what to make for their first meeting of 2010.  With all the devastation going on in Haiti, I thought it would be a wonderful reminder to reach within and try to spread the best of what we've got inside ourselves.  It will leave a good taste in your mouth.

Say Cheeeeese!!!!

These are cupcakes that I made for a young man who was leaving a job as a school photographer to be a teacher.  The twist is that this young man (whom I've never met) was my replacement at the company where I also worked as a school photographer.  The banners were custom made and are two sided but have to keep a promise that the other side would not be exposed on this blog or anywhere else.  The other side were humorous "quotes" from the company.  Hilarious inside jokes amongst the employees.  I hope this young man's send off dinner was filled with lots of laughs and hope he enjoys the very personal and detailed touches that were made to honor him and his 8.5 years of service.  If only the bosses could feel the love..........

Play Ball!!

For my good friend's son, Matthew,  who turned ONE!!  He loves to play with balls, kick them, chase them, hold them so I made a sporty theme for him and think it was a touchdown (or goal, or homerun, or slamdunk!!)  Happy 1st Birthday Matthew!!

It's a Strike!

First time I was asked to do bowling cupcakes.  I am pretty happy with the outcome.  The pins took me three nights to do and those were very hard to keep consistent.  I had planned on putting more pins on each cupcake but when I finally baked the batch they look like too many so I had to downsize, needless to say had lots of extra pins!!  The balls were custom to look marble (for the older kids) like they do in real bowling alleys but the other two dozen are just a rainbow of varied colors for the rest of the birthday guests.  I hope that birthday boy, Joey, is pleased!!

Baby, it's COLD outside......

The cute little bears were made for the brave (or just plain crazy) friends I have who are members of The Polar Bear Club in Centerport, NY.  It snowed a little yesterday and the temp is a frigid 33 degrees and they will be diving into the bay at noon.  Afterwards, my best friend has made a hearty WARM lunch of chili, homemade chicken soup and I decided to bring along these guys.  Inside is red velvet (my first attempt) and if they are supposed to be dense and less sweet then I succeeded but the real test will be if they get eaten by some hungry bears today.  It's a New Year and I look forward to lots of baking this year.  Thanks for stopping by, Happy New Year to all of you and best wishes for 2010!!
