Cathie orders cupcakes from me more frequently than any other customer. They are almost always for her girls but this order was finally for herself! Cathie's birthday is tomorrow and she gave me free reign on the toppers. I was very happy to make these for Cathie for her weekend celebration! Sarah tasted my one of my cupcakes at a family party awhile back and remembered how Jo-Ann raved about them. It's so flattering to hear that someone keeps my Babycakes taste and beauty in their mental file and pull it out when a special occasion is being planned. Laura, my college friend and repeat customer contacted me that her cousin Sarah would be getting in touch with me for cupcakes. Sarah did indeed contact me and had all the details for color and ideas ready for me. She chose orange and turquoise as the colors and little flowers and her name on some. I suggested personalized banners for some cupcakes that wouldn't have any fondant on them. She agreed, we met in Queens before the holiday weekend and her reaction is why I do what I do. She was very happy and gave me a big hug. I also loved the outcome and I'm pretty sure Jo-Ann did too. Happy 60th Birthday!
My friend Janeth has a heart of gold, it's no wonder she has a wide circle of friends. One of her friends, Kristen, did something so thoughtful for Janeth and would not accept monetary payment from her. Janeth asked me to bake a special batch of "Thank you" cupcakes for Kristen to show her appreciation. It's such a 'SWEET' way to show someone you care the same way as giving flowers or mailing a card but instead a personal treat for your soul and belly! Janeth's friendship always comes full circle. It's raining hard today in New York but that did not damper anyone's spirits for this bridal shower. Megan, a repeat customer, contacted me and ordered 5 dozen cupcakes for her sister's bridal shower held at Black and Blue Restaurant in Huntington. The bride chose dusty rose as her wedding color and Megan chose these floral design. I love the simplicity and how lovely they came out. Chocolate, vanilla and vanilla chocolate chip flavored cupcakes for a wide variety.
My friend Johanna contacted me all the way from Delaware to bake cupcakes for her friend celebrating her 40th Birthday. She gave me delivery instructions and Kerri had no idea what she would be getting, she only knew that I would be coming delivering "something." Kerri & I do not know each other so it was fun knowing she couldn't even try to crack the mystery with me. Johanna told me that Kerri's favorite flowers are Gerber daisies. She sent me colors and chose vanilla chocolate chip as the flavor. I was delighted to drive up to her door and give her a birthday surprise that Johanna coordinated from far away! It was a welcome to make these on a cloudy wintry day too!
Thoughtful Aunt Eileen contacted me for her niece, Brynn's 2nd Birthday celebration! Brynn's party was a Tinkerbell theme. Eileen emailed me a picture of the cake that was ordered and asked me to make cupcakes with the same colors but to leave room for some additional toppers that were purchased separately by Brynn's Mom, Danielle.
As you can see, my cupcakes looked bare till the toppers were added. I love that customers really think things through before they call me. It makes it much easier for me to meet their needs when they already know what they want! Aunt Eileen is a huge fan of my red velvets and uses the opportunity to order her very own batch to share with her co-workers aside from her family at Brynn's big bash! It's super sweet to see this family, we used to be neighbors in the old neighborhood. They are down to earth and always have every detail set when hosting a party. The family members were wearing green to support the theme too!

Repeat customer, Aida, contacted me and asked me to create cupcakes for both her son and daughter. For him, the vanilla fireman themed cupcakes (design credit goes to Be Sweet, By Maria and Lynlee's Petite Cakes). The chocolate cupcakes decorated with pastel colored butterflies and tiny flowers were for her daughter! Enjoy the sweet treats!
Sally and Brian (aka Briaz)are getting married! These cupcakes were made for Sally's Bridal Shower in anticipation of their spring wedding later this month.
Brian, her fiancé, is very special to me. He is my best friend's first cousin and I met him when he was in in elementary school. Brian and his friends would sleep over my best friend's house and those were fun times. I've watched him play sports, we've done school projects together, gone Christmas caroling together, suddenly he's graduating high school, then college. A couple of years ago, I even sampled his home made sangria. It's fair to say he's grown up quite a bit but still has a boy like quality that I see in him. When I met Sally, it was easy to see how they feel for one another.
Brian and Sally make a beautiful couple and I wish them the best life has to offer for their future.
These adorable cupcakes were made for my friend Tracey and her family and also a duplicate batch made for a brand new customer named Trish. The bright colors and eager appetites of the chicks are all staple things that we see on Easter in my home and hope that they bring out the kid in all of those who indulge!
This time of year is such a great time to notice all the nature around us, the little blooms sticking out of the ground, as we shed our winter coats and boots for spring jackets and enjoy the fresh air more. It is also a time to reflect about all the do overs we have, the fresh starts we get when we decide to change something, break a habit or just see the opportunity with a new beginning which is what Easter means to me.
I have a couple of friends who are struggling right now with extreme circumstances and they are close in my heart as I am fortunate enough to share this holiday with my loving family, my wonderful parents in my home. Although there are many I won't see today, they are always on my mind and in my heart.

These sweet little fondant rosettes were made for my parents who were planning on visiting someone. Weather changed the plans but they insisted on the cupcakes anyway! They took them to the parish they belong to instead. I love the way the roses turned out, first time I ever made an open rose!
