Olivia's First Holy Communion

My neighbor and friend ,Mary, asked me to make these cupcakes for her niece Olivia who is celebrating her First Holy Communion this weekend. God Bless you Olivia!

Not your standard Communion Cupcakes!

That's right! These are custom cupcakes for Isabella to honor her First Communion. Diana ordered these and I even resisted a bit in the beginning to the idea of doing a design to celebrate a Communion with sunglasses, purses and sneakers! I thought isn't this more appropriate for a birthday but Diana insisted and we brainstormed for weeks. I am very happy that the guests will be taking home a cupcake from the party that truly reflects Isabella's unique style! Each cupcake is topped with colored vanilla icing, a Sugar Sheet (Zebra design) that I cut into circles and placed on my homemade fondant and then topped with my signature toppers and wrapped up individually to-go. I think Diana will love these and more importantly, Isabella will know the story behind all planning for her special day. I am so happy that Diana did not cave because I was so reluctant at first. I was super nervous about the sneakers and they are my favorite of all the toppers. Every child needs someone who is looking to please them and make them feel this special! God Bless Isabella!

Declan & Ryan's Communion Cupcakes!

Laurie, a friend of mine, ordered these cupcakes for Godson, Ryan and his twin brother, Declan for their First Holy Communion. These boys are sons of one of her best friends, Matt and she always calls on me for their special parties. It is my pleasure especially since I know just how strong the bond is among this group of friends that Laurie and Matt are part of. It's so nice to see that old friends do not grow apart over time. The design was from a couple of years ago but it has been a hit this Communion season 2013! I really hope that the boys felt special on this blessed day.

Anthony's First Communion!

These beautiful cupcakes were ordered by Christine for her son, Anthony's First Communion. The design is over two years old but still very popular as I had another order for a Communion using this design which originally was for a baptism. I like that Christine made it more personal by requesting initials. I hope that Anthony's guests all enjoyed these. God Bless!

Justin's First Holy Communion!

These chocolate and vanilla cupcakes were made for Justin who is celebrating his Fist Communion. Justin's Mom, Diana, contacted me after looking through my blog and selecting a design that I did two years ago for a baptism. I love when customers really browse through my blog posts, old and current! The very next day I had a customer select the very same design for a Communion as well but added initials to her order.....that's the next post! A little ahead of myself... It's always so nice to see Diana. She's special to me because she was such a great help to me while I was pregnant with my daughter, my first child. She loves being a Mom and always had such wonderful advice for me. Yesterday when I delivered these, I brought my daughter and was great to see her light up with awe...the years trickle by so quickly. Diana worked so hard on this event. She had a beautiful candy bar set up and did all the work herself. I felt good that she selected Babycakes to serve at such a special party. God Bless you Justin!

God Bless Antonio

Antonella is a brand new customer. She found me the way many of my new customers do, by being a guest at a party where Babycakes are served. She contacted me far in advance requesting cupcake favors for her son's communion. It is so flattering when a complete stranger trusts me with such a special occasion! Antonella requested all chocolate cupcakes and wanted her design to be unique. She chose a chalice on a round white base that she said reminded her of the Holy Host. I agree! I needed blue sprinkles (aka jimmies)but by the time the design was officially decided, I could only find blue dots. I love the way they look!! Turns out Antonella is a local neighbor, such a small world, so I hope I hear from her again. God Bless You Antonio!

Liam's First Communion!

My friend, Laurie, contacted me about making cupcakes for her friend's son, Liam. I am always happy to hear from Laurie. She is a repeat customer who orders cupcakes for the children in her life. Laurie ordered fondant cross cupcakes in the brown and blue color theme and requested blue icing. All variety of flavors too, chocolate, vanilla and chocolate chip. I know that these cupcakes will make Liam's day even more special. God Bless You Liam!

Treats for the Moms!

My friend, Kristine, is hosting a party at her home today to honor her daughter's Communion and to celebrate Mother's Day. She asked me to make a Cupcake Cross (not pictured (yet!)) and also cupcake favors for all the Moms that will be present. I loved the idea! All the Moms will leave with a special and yummy parting gift! Lauren helped me puzzle the cross together and Kristine will be emailing me a picture soon so I can post it here. They were two dozen standard sized cupcakes with minis and the ends of the cross and bright yellow gerber daisies adorning some of the cupcakes. Lauren looked just as darling in her pjs as she did in her Communion dress and I can tell she is pretty excited about the party. Kristine is a beautiful hard working Mom of two and deserves all the happiness coming her way! I hope she and her family and friends will have a beautiful day together and know the day is theirs. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

I was contacted by Shawn and Christine when they were planning their daughter Abigail's First Communion. They requested four dozen cupcake favors, two designs and three flavors. It is always flattering when I get an order from someone who's never even tasted my cupcakes but love my designs. I can't tell you how special it makes me feel when there are bakeries everywhere! Abigail's party was at a restaurant, Barosa, in Rego Park, NY. I went to high school with Shawn and sat in front of him for fours years in homeroom, he kids around that he drove me crazy but it was in a big brother kind of way. He is still a sweet guy and has a beautiful family so this order was very special to me. It is a beautiful sunny warm day and seeing Shawn again and as the family man was great. Abigail looked so picture perfect with her dress and hair all done. She was a darling thanking me for the cupcakes. I hope they all enjoy this blessed day and their yummy cupcakes!

Laura and I have known each other since freshman year of college. She was one of my first customers when I first began Babycakes and reserved me to bake for such a special event, Olivia's Fist Holy Communion. Olivia was totally involved with the details of the designs, the colors and even what kind of swirl she wanted on the cupcake tops. It was refreshing to try out new designs! Tristen's First Holy Communion!

Peter's Holy Communion

This is my first Communion order of 2012. Annmarie contacted me far in advance for her son Peter's, First Holy Communion. Peter's guests will all be able to take home a cupcake favor and enjoy it after the party has ended. I love how dressed up my favor boxes look with the personalized labels and colored sheer ribbon! Christening Cupcake Cross

I wanted to post a photo of a cupcake cross I did today for Karen's baby twins (a boy & a girl). I neglected to photograph the two dozen cupcakes that were also ordered because I've posted the same cross cupcakes in the past for Communions and Baptisms. I just wanted to show off the cross with the little colored flowers.

Communion Breakfast

My great friend, Jackie, ordered some cupcakes for a Communion Breakfast that her kids' school is hosting. She asked for white and light blue colors and for an even split on the chocolate and vanilla flavors.
My favorite part of this order was getting to spend some time with Jackie when she came all the way from New Jersey to pick up the batch from me. Life gets so busy and although many 'girls' nights' are planned, seems like I miss most of them so we don't see eachother as often as we'd like to.

Cupcake Cross

It's Communion season and my friend Mary inquired about cupcakes for John's First Holy Communion back in February. Mary trusts me but like to I send out a few ideas, she wanted something different and decided on the cupcake cross. The cost is down because there is no fondant involved. The board is light blue and just a few mini cupcakes accent the ends of the cross. I purchased pretty blue flowers, hybrid deliniums (sorry not in the photo) to "garnish" the cross. She also ordered the classic "burgers" for her guests.
Mary is the kind of person who is always doing, running and giving. It makes me feel good to know I can make her and her kids happy!!!!
