Lucky Me!

My great friend, Suzanne asked me to make cupcakes for her daughter's class as they celebrate St. Patrick's Day. These are all vanilla and the home made fondant toppers are some of the typical St. Patrick's Day symbols. The leprechaun hat, the pot of gold and the lucky shamrock.
Hope the kids feel as lucky getting to eat these up as I feel when I am asked to bake!

Curious George

Kiera was referred to me when planning her daughter Rieley's 2nd Birthday party at LePlay Cafe in Bellmore, NY. She was specific as to what she wanted as toppers and it was a fun order to fulfill. Characters are probably my favorite requests.
These chocolate babycakes are topped with colored vanilla frosting and the minis are adorned with my home made personalized banners.
Happy 2nd Birthday Rieley!!

The Lorax!

Elly, a friend from high school and loyal customer, contacted me and asked me to create cupcakes with The Lorax theme for her daughter, Julie's 15th birthday. I had many ideas for this theme and researched it quite a bit (although I did not see the movie (yet!)). A Mom at my son's preschool suggested I use cotton candy for the truffula trees and I thought that was an amazing idea. I covered pretzel sticks with white chocolate and drew blue stripes with edible marker and when I attempted to attach the cotton candy, I had to rethink this idea. They kept losing shape, incredibly sticky to handle and just did not work. I then began to think of other options & decided not to make the theme three dimensional. I went with a "cartoonish" technique to honor Dr. Seuss' distinguishable, unique style. I found some adorable cupcake wrappers on Etsy and just used them as a guide as I shaped and drew on my homemade fondant. I was still able to use the pretzels as the truffula trunks. My favorite is the fish but hoping Julie and her friends will love them all!

I do my Breast!

A new customer, Patty, contacted me because she was hosting a fun girls' night at her house and asked me to make cupcakes with breasts on them. Well, really, her sister contacted me first and gave me the back story....
Patty had a procedure done earlier this week on her breast. Her girl friend, had another procedure on her breasts, a cosmetic one. Both ladies along with friends and family are getting together to be "uplifting" and "supportive" to one another. It's easy to make light of this gathering when Patty seems so witty and positive.
When I made the delivery, she welcomed me into her home and showed me the batch of cupcakes she made in addition to these. They were bare all, full frontal breast cupcakes! Wish I had a picture because they were really something!
I hope these ladies enjoyed their girls' night and had some laughs over these busty beauties!

Let's hear it for the Boss!

When Nina, a repeat customer, called me to order cupcakes, I thought the occasion would be personal, but her reason was nothing short of professional. Nina decided to reward her department with cupcakes that praised the hard work they put it, especially recently. It made me smile to come up with short little phrases that recognize time, work and dedication. I love this idea so much and think Nina deserves some applause for being so appreciative of her workplace and letting it show!

Happy 6th Birthday Joseph!

Joe is about to celebrate his 6th birthday with his Kindergarten classmates at school and with his family over the weekend. His Mom, Erin, called and asked me to create Transformers cupcakes. I made Transformer cupcakes two years ago using wafer paper and edible ink. It's a challenge with such a small canvas, less than 3 inches, to work on. I was able to get some of his favorite Transformers on the wafer paper and applied it to fondant as a base.
The minis are for the family celebration and surely will be gobbled up by the Rozzo family! Happy Birthday Joseph!!!! XOXO
